Transcription: This one-half scale model of Nebuchadnezzar's Ishtar Gate has been built to give the visitor to Babylon some sense of the beauty and majesty one would have felt in passing through the original gate. The gate Nebuchadnezzar built on top of his father's was coated with a blue glaze, with bowls alternating in gold and white. Some of the original panels have been recovered and preserved in the Iraq Museum in Baghdad.
